Ana Sofia Catarino has been with TFRA since 2006 and has been a partner since 2009.
Her main areas of practice are Real Estate Law, Urban Planning, Construction, and Tourism, Public Procurement, Labor Law, and Dispute Resolution, coordinating the respective departments.
She has solid and extensive experience in providing legal counsel for real estate transactions, offering strategic and technical-legal support throughout all stages of the business. Her practice includes structuring and negotiating real estate purchase and sale agreements, lease-back transactions, residential and commercial leases, as well as other forms of real estate asset development and management. He has been involved in large-scale and complex projects, both in the residential sector and in commercial, tourism, and logistics developments, representing domestic and international investors, real estate developers, investment funds, and public entities.
Before joining TFRA, she worked at Teixeira Duarte – Engenharia e Construções, S.A. (2001–2006), and worked as a solo practitioner, providing ongoing legal services to the Almada City Council (2000–2004) and the now-defunct General Directorate of Transportation (1997–1999).
She is a member of WIRE Portugal (Women in Real Estate), an association of professional women in the construction and real estate sectors.
She holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (1997), specializing in Legal Sciences. She completed her academic training with postgraduate studies in Consumer Law (1998) – Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra, and Land Use Planning, Urban Planning, and Environmental Law (2001) – CEDOUA, Faculty of Law, University of Coimbra; Public Procurement in Times of Crisis (2012) – ICJP, Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon; Angolan Public Law (2013) – ICJP, Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon.
Admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association since 1999.
