Vasco Carvalho Marques has been with TFRA since 2001 and has been a partner since 2003.

His main area of practice is Tax Law, with a special focus on corporate restructuring planning, International Tax Law, Tax Litigation, and Tax Arbitration. In parallel, Vasco Marques provides legal support to the Private Clients practice area, ensuring integrated and personalized solutions.

He was a Trainee Attorney at VdA (1994–1996) and a Senior Tax Consultant at Arthur Andersen (1999–2001).

He is the co-author of the chapter on Portugal in the book *Retirement in Europe: The Tax Aspect* (International Tax Planning Association – ITPA), first edition 2006, second edition 2013. He has been recognized annually by *Best Lawyers*.

He received his law degree from the Portuguese Catholic University in 1994, a postgraduate degree in Taxation from the Instituto Superior de Gestão in 1998, and completed the Advanced Taxation Program in 2009 at the Portuguese Catholic University

Admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association in 1996, he was recognized as a specialist in Tax Law by the Association in 2007.

Vasco Marques is fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
